Investing in prevention, protection, and adolescent wellbeing delivers benefits that far outweigh the costs, improving the lives of the most vulnerable children, strengthening human capital, and supporting inclusive growth in Angola

Cornerstone worked with UNICEF Mozambique to analyse national survey data and produce a series of thematic briefs on child well-being. Covering health, nutrition, education, gender, and protection, these resources now guide policy and advocacy for children across Mozambique.

Cornerstone is partnering with UNICEF Ghana and others to strengthen the country’s social service workforce through evidence-based strategies and investment cases. Our work highlights the economic and social value of funding the people who protect and support children and families.

We are working with UNICEF’s MENA Regional Office to strengthen investment in child protection across the region. By building skills in Public Finance for Children, creating country-specific costing tools, and producing a regional investment case for the social service workforce, we aim to secure more and better-targeted funding, ensuring more trained professionals on the ground and stronger protection for every child.

In 2021, UNICEF HQ and the UN SRSG-VAC commissioned Cornerstone to investigate the economic costs of VAC.
