UNICEF Ghana seeks to advocate for the resources required to respond to the economic, social and cultural rights, and well-being, of children. Between 2019 and 2021, UNICEF Ghana contracted Cornerstone to produce an annual set of sectoral budget briefs to assess how well the national budget addresses children’s needs, and to advocate for additional expenditure on key programmes for children across various sectors, including education, health, social protection, WASH, child protection, gender and nutrition. The main objectives were to simplify complex budget information for different stakeholders, present key messages and recommendations to influence public financial decision-making processes, and leverage domestic resources for children.
